Founded in the wake of the gold rush, Lewiston has grown to be the second largest city in the Northern Idaho region and is the primary city of the Lewiston/Clarkston Metropolitan area. Lewiston is surrounded by the Snake River, Clearwater River and is located just north of the Lower Granite Dam.
